Match Preview

Pontypridd v Cross Keys Principality Premiership

Cross Keys head to Sardis Road to take on reigning Principality Premiership champions Pontypridd at the house of pain on Friday evening.

The Keys will be looking to gain revenge over Ponty who comfortably triumphed over Keys on the opening day of the season at Pandy Park, winning a one-sided game by 28 points to 3. For Ponty tries came via Lewis I Williams, Gavin Dacey and Chris Phillips whilst outside half Dai Flanagan kicked 13 points via 3 penalties and 2 conversions. Keys could only manage a penalty by former Ponty fly half Dean Gunter.

Since then Ponty have continued to be their usual consistent selves. From they're 8 league games played so far this season they have lost only once, at Rodney Parade against Newport by 20 points to 19. They currently occupy 3rd place in the table. Last Saturday Ponty defeated struggling Aberavon at The Talbot Athletic Ground by 30 -13.

Keys of course also won last Saturday beating league leaders Llandovery at Pandy Park by 22 points to 15 in an impressive all round team performance. As a result Keys jumped up to 4th place so Friday night's game could be another cracker.
