Cross Keys v Bridgend Preview and Team News

**MATCH POSTPONED - NEW DATE TO BE ARRANGED**

Cross Keys host Bridgend this Saturday lunchtime, looking to carry on a winning run which has seen them go unbeaten in 2018 so far. Please note that due to the England v Wales 6 Nations fixture this game will kick off at the earlier time of 12.30pm.

The Keys are currently sitting in 8th position, in the middle of the Principality Premiership table whilst the Ravens are looking for their first win in the league since the East and West conferences combined at the end of December. Like Keys Bridgend started the full Principality Premiership with 3 points having finished the west conference in 6th place. As yet following their opening 2 games they have not yet moved from the 3 points they started with and currently sit in 15th place, one place above Neath who occupy 16th place in the Principality Premiership table.

Last season the 2 sides met on 2 occasions, with the honours going to the home side on each occasion. In the regular league fixture played at the Brewery Field back in September 2016, the home side eased to a comfortable 29 points to 16 bonus point victory over Keys. Tries for the Ravens came from Ashton Evans, Jack Pope, Marc Bennett-Jones and Ryan Griffiths, with Joseph Scrivens kicking 9 points with the boot. Keys points came via a Josh Skinner try and a conversion and 3 penalties from the boot of Ethan Davies. In the tier 2 fixture played at Pandy Park a year ago to the day that the 2 sides will meet this year it was Keys who edged out the Ravens by 16 points to 13. Keys' points coming from a Ieuan Jones try and a conversion and 3 penalties from Josh Prosser. The Ravens' replied with a Will Baird try and a conversion and pair of penalties by Joseph Scrivens.

Turning attentions back to this Saturday's and Cross Keys have announced their team to take on the Ravens. It shows a total of 6 changes to the side that started in the impressive win at Neath last Thursday evening. In the pack there are recalls for Corey Hewlett and Richard Cornock in the front row whilst Scott Andrews returns to action in the second row, where he replaces Luke Dyckhoff who is on international duty with Germany for their clash with Romania in the Rugby Europe Championships. In the backs there are also 3 changes where Lewis Barnett replaces Phil Williams, who is unavailable in the centre. On the wing Keys bring in Dragons wing Calvin Wellington, a recent convert from rugby league with St Helens, he replaces Nathan Trowbridge who is on the bench. At outside half Keys bring in another Dragon where Angus O'Brien will appear for Keys for the first time since 2015.
