Match Report

Carmarthen 24 Cross Keys 17

Cross Keys suffered their second defeat of the season against a Carmarthen Quins side that remain unbeaten and move to the top of the Principality Premiership table with this 24 points to 17 victory.

Keys only try came in the 20th minute of the first half thanks to Danny Hodge who crashed over from close range after Keys had been camped on the Quins line for some time. Keys other points came from the boot of Dorian Jones who kicked 3 penalties and replacement Angus O'Brien who kicked a penalty in the closing moments to secure a losing bonus point for Keys.

Quins scored a try in each half through Will Boyde and Jason Harries and former Keys outside half Aled Thomas kicked the rest of Quins' points via a conversion and 4 penalty goals.

A valiant effort from Keys, who on another day might have won this game but for some excellent defensive work from the home side. Keys attention now turns to the British & Irish Cup which begins on Saturday 12th October at home to Moseley.
