Cross Keys have wasted no time in announcing a replacement
for head coach Greg Woods who will leave the club by mutual consent in January.
The coaching team will see a couple of changes with backs coach Morgan Stoddart being promoted to the role of head coach where he will continue to work alongside Jonathan Westwood as Director of Rugby and Mark Prangell as team manager. Aled James will remain in his position as defence coach whilst the new addition to the coaching staff will be former Wales second row and British Lion Ian Evans, who will come in to the role in January once Greg Woods departs.
Former Ospreys and Bristol man Evans, who is 33 years of age was forced to retire as a player back in April of this year due to a persistent knee injury, has been coaching Treorchy in the Welsh National League 1 and is looking forward to taking the next step in to coaching in the Principality Premiership with Keys.
Alongside Morgan Stoddart, Jonathan Westwood, Aled James and conditioning coach Simon Church, Evans will no doubt bring some new ideas to the table which will hopefully see Keys once again becoming a force to be reckoned with in years to come.
