By David Glastonbury | 23/02/2018

Cross Keys host Llandovery this Saturday in the Principality Premiership. Please note that this game will Kick Off at 12.00pm due to the Ireland v Wales Six Nations Clash which kicks off at 2.15pm.
This is the first of 2 consecutive fixtures against the Drovers as the 2 sides will meet again next Saturday in the quarter final of the WRU National Cup at Pandy Park (03/03/2018).

The Drovers have had a very good season so far. They are on a winning run which has stretched back to 6 games in all competitions. Their last defeat came back in November when they lost by 19 points to 5 at the Gnoll against Neath. With 5 of those 6 wins coming at Church Bank, Keys will be hoping that the Drovers’ form will slip away from home as they head to Pandy Park for their next 2 fixtures.

Last season the 2 sides met just once in the Principality Premiership and the result went the way of the home side at Church Bank with the Drovers taking the win by 26 points to 17. The home side’s points came from a try apiece for Dafydd Hughes and Rhodri Davies with Jack Maynard also claiming 16 points with the boot via both conversions and 4 penalties. Keys replied with tries by Scott Matthews and Owain Leonard with Josh Prosser on target with both conversions and a penalty.

The Keys have confirmed their side for this Saturday’s game and it shows a total 5 changes to the side that won at Swansea last Saturday. In the pack there is just one change with Gary Carpenter coming in to start at loose head prop in place of Corey Hewlett. In the backs Keys move Lewis Barnett to inside centre where he partners Leon Andrews who returns at outside centre. On the wing Calvin Wellington is included from the Dragons whilst Owain Leonard is given the nod at scrum half where he replaces James Leadbeater who is amongst the replacements. On the bench Keys include Dragons Academy hooker Zac Hewlett, who could make his Keys debut in the front row. Zac is the younger brother of Keys prop Corey, who is also included on the bench.
