Cross Keys v Glamorgan Wanderers Team News and Preview

It may only be the second week of the 2019/2020 season but attentions turn to the newly named Specasavers National Cup this weekend as Cross Keys welcome their fellow Specsavers Championship side Glamorgan Wanderers to Pandy Park for the 1st Round Clash and Keys’ first home game of the campaign.

The Wanderers got their season off to a great last weekend when, following their promotion in to the Championship they travelled to Maesteg Quins for their season opener and came away with a 22 points to 8 victory. As for Keys they will be looking for a big improvement after last week’s heavy 41 points to 9 defeat at Bedwas.

Despite that defeat The Keys have kept changes to a minimum for this week’s game with just one change in personnel and a positional switch made by Keys. Both changes are in the pack and sees skipper Tom Lampard move in to the second row to replace Scott Andrews, with Max George, who was a late withdrawal last week coming in to replace Lampard in the back row. The replacements named could see a potential 4 players make their competitive debuts for Keys with front rowers Owen Peddle and Rhodri Young named alongside back rower Josh Wall and back Rhys Jenkins.
